Howdy, y’all!
For all the Americans in the bunch, I hope you had a happy and safe 4th of July. Last one before the collapse, folks, so you better have gone a little wild.
Ha. I kid. We’ll probably get one more 4th before the total collapse of our society. Maybe. I guess we’ll see, won’t we?
Talking about seeing! You should see these books! (Don’t judge the segue or it will judge you.)
I dig helping other authors spread the word, so click the covers and see what they’re offering.
Woopty hoo!
Oh, and I did create a whole playlist of my stories from the Scary Horror Stories by Dr. NoSleep podcast. Check it out (you can play them straight from the graphic below)!
Now, on with the drabble!
Huzzah!

Cold and Lightless
By
Jake Bible
The tiki torches were cold and lightless.
Bruce walked slowly, carefully in the oppressive silence.
He stepped over broken piña colada glasses and scorched grass-skirting. Shredded plastic flowers covered everything, making Bruce’s journey across the lounge tricky.
But Bruce knew the place hadn’t been scavenged yet. He’d watched it closely over the past three days.
Crunch.
Bruce froze.
From under the shredded plastic flowers came moans. Then groans. Then hisses.
Patrons, clad in bloody Hawaiian shirts, sat up, turned their desiccated necks, their undead eyes showing only hunger, and stared at Bruce.
“Bummer,” Bruce said just before the things attacked.
