[Ooops! You may have already gotten this early this morning. I blame fumble thumbs! I’m resending it at the regular time just in case folks missed it or whatever. Apologies, y’all!]
Well, another week has gone by without someone giving me a million dollars.
What’s up with that?
Anyway, welcome back! Good to see y’all.
You know what else it’s good to see?
Authors working hard and making books! You should check out the book below. I have no idea if it is good or bad. I don’t really care. I’m just here to share my space with someone who was brave enough to spill some soul blood onto blank pages.
Oh, and please do me a favor and fill out my poll. This will determine which stories I’ll be submitting for Bram Stoker Award consideration. Thanks!
And just in case you have no idea what short stories I’m talking about, here’s a Spotify playlist!
Now, enjoy the free microfiction!
Cheers!

She Was Wrong

Jake Bible
The dame sat there, legs crossed, dress hiked just so, a cigarette between her fingers.
She stared at me as if I had all the answers.
She was wrong.
But only by a little.
“The thing is, Mrs. Collins,” I said as I pulled a manilla folder out of a drawer and tossed it across my desk at her. “Your husband isn’t dead.”
The dame blew smoke out of the side of her mouth, snuffed out her cigarette, and grabbed the folder.
Her eyes went wide as she studied the photos.
“No, Mrs. Collins,” I said. “Your husband is undead.”
