“The seemingly innocent man seemingly slipped through the seam of the curtain, never to be seen again.”

Silence.

“Yes…uh…lovely, Alicia.”

“Thank you, professor.”

“It felt personal.”

Silence.

“Any other comments, professor?”

“Comments?”

“Any critique? I do hope my poetry has gotten better. Has it, professor?”

“You have progressed nicely.”

Silence.

“You didn’t like it.”

“What? No, no, Alicia, I thought it was lovely.”

“Now you’re lying.”

“What? No.”

The sound of metal slowly scraping against metal.

“Alicia? I don’t think we need the kitchen shears.”

“Maybe taking another finger will help you appreciate my genius.”

Silence.

Snip.

Scream.
