Friday Night Drabble Party!
"She Shook Her Head"
Happy Friday!
Depending on where you are, you might be getting hit with some snow. Stay warm! We’re in for a storm, I hear, so I’m prepping. Beer? Check! Wine? Check! Food? Check! Beer? Check!
Prep done.
Speaking of prep…um, okay, I got nothing there. No segue at all. Sorry…
But I do have a link to Always Free Fiction! That’s right, folks, it’s Always Free!
I dropped the last part of There Are Specters On My Tail, And I’m All Out Of Bullets. It’s a good one.
I’ll be dropping another story from the second collection next week. Can’t wait? Then go get the book now!
Stay safe out there, folks.
Now, on with the drabble! Which is also FREE!

The fever burned, and there was nothing I could do.
We’d used the last of the antibiotics a month ago. The analgesics, cases of them, were stolen by the hoarders in camp.
I stared at the small, sweaty face. I swept a lock of matted hair back from her forehead.
“Don’t worry,” I said, leaning in close to my daughter. “Mama will find you some medicine.”
The door opened behind me. My wife walked in. She shook her head.
I nodded, stood up, and fetched my gun from the bedside.
“I’ll get some.” I racked the slide. “Fuck the hoarders.”
Now do do, that voodoo, that you do, so well!
