For those that don’t know, this is the reboot of Dead Team Alpha. Why reboot? Same as with Fighting Iron, the book has a new publisher and it’s been over seven years since it was first published. Ya gotta breathe new life into old books, hence the name change.

Vera Didn’t Bother

Vera didn’t bother with the doorknob. She simply kicked down the door and walked inside.

“Who the fuck are you?” a man dressed only in boxers shouted. “Get the fuck out of my house!”

Vera ignored the angry man. He wasn’t her concern.

Down the hall and into the man’s kitchen where his wife stood, her eyes wide with fear, Vera spotted the fridge and opened it.

“Thank god,” she muttered as she grabbed a full jar of minced garlic.

Vera finally took notice of the wife and smiled.

“Vampires,” she said then left.

“Oh…” the man’s wife replied. “Okay…”
