Before we get to the wonderful 100 words. I am going to talk about Chuck Wendig’s latest novel, Wayward.
If you haven’t read the first in the series, Wanderers, then I just don’t know who you are anymore. It’s some seriously great apocalyptic shit. And I know my apocalyptic shit, y’all.
And, guess what? Wayward is some seriously great post-apocalyptic shit!
I’m not going to go in-depth because personally, in-depth reviews are ridiculous. And this isn’t a review. It’s a gosh darn recommendation!

“What?”
“My side is killing me. We have to rest.”
“No. Suck it up, buttercup. We rest, we die.”
“I can’t keep going.”
“That’s your choice.”
“Wait…what?”
“That is your choice. Rest. Stay. Die. I’m gonna run my ass off until I know I’m safe.”
“You’d leave me?”
“We! Are! Going! To! Die!”
“But, you’d leave me?”
“Yes. Am I not being clear? We have to keep going!”
“Okay… OKAY! We keep going. Fucker…”
“Don’t blame me. You said it’d be fine.”
“I know. I was…wrong.”
“Ya think? Now, run, motherfucker!”
“Ugh…”
