Well, folks, it’s been quite a year.

This’ll be the last FNDP of 2024. Kinda ready for the year to be over. I honestly don’t think I’ve experienced more life-changing events in one year before. I mean, 2020 was a doozy, but shit, 2024? Doozy’s big brother on steroids and Four Loko and three pints of Jaegermeister.

I wish I was exaggerating.

The contract sat on the coffee table like a dry cat turd someone had found in the cracks of the couch cushions.

“There is no way we can let that go forward,” Hazel said, her eyes locked onto the contract.

“It would be a considerable amount of work,” Nicholas said.

“What the hell are you two talking about?” Larissa, the twins’ mother asked. “It’s just a chore schedule.”

“Yes, well, let us think about it and get back to you,” Nicholas said.

He got up and Hazel got up with him.

As the ten-year-olds left, Hazel mouthed, “We’ll call you.”
