Delia could see the hair.

“Hello?” she called out, her voice muted by the dense woods.

The hair swayed in the wind by the third oak in. It was as if someone was standing there with their head down, letting the black, oily hair just hang.

“This isn’t funny!”

She rattled her keys then gripped them in her hand tight, sliding three of them between her fingers into a makeshift weapon.

“I’ll mess you up!”

The hair slid out of sight behind the oak.

“Screw this. I’m gone.”

Delia turned around, ready to run.

All she could see was hair.
