Friday Night Drabble Party!
"A Happy Smile"
Friday has returned, and with it comes another drabble. How exciting!
First, I need to apologize for any confusion with this week’s Always Free Fiction. I accidentally titled the post with “Ep 1” in there instead of “Ep 2”. It has since been fixed, but all y’all’s emails had the wrong subject heading. My bad.
And, if you dug that last story, you can get it and nine others in They All Bleed: Ten NoSleep Stories, Volume Two. You should really get this book. Get it and review it. Or get it and rate it. Whatever you do, get it.
Oh, and if you are in the WNC area and feel like hanging out with some crazy horror authors and listening to them read some of their work, well, you are in luck!
Come on out and see us! I’ll be MCing and reading a little of my stuff. It’s gonna be a blast!
Now, on with the drabble!
Cheers, y’all!
A Happy Smile

The feel of wheat on his palm made Kevin smile. He barely touched the stalks, keeping his hand just above the tips, savoring the tickle.
He ignored the screams and cries and focused on the beauty of the field, the warmth of the sun, the cool relief of the breeze.
Kevin turned his face to the sky and closed his eyes.
“And He rejoices, for the sinners have been punished.”
Kevin sighed, content, that happy smile on his face as the farmhouse burned far behind him at the edge of the field, and the family tied inside begged for help.
Hey. Hey, you. See dem buttons down there? Push one. Go on. Nothing bad’s gonna happen. Just push one. I dare you…

OMG😱
