The Overlord Sighed

The Overlord stood there, its eyes blazing fire and its voice a choked pipe filled with gravel.

“You failed?” the Overlord asked. “How?”

“A guardian, Overlord,” the demon cried, cowering.

“A guardian? Was it armed?”

“With claws and fangs, Overlord!”

“And it bested you in combat?”

“Oh, no, Overlord, no. I did not dare fight it.”

“You what?”

“It hissed and spit and raised itself up on its tippy toes, Overlord! Very scary!”

“Did the guardian have a name?”

“Yes, Overlord! Muffins! The beast’s name was Muffins!”

The Overlord sighed.

“Dammit! Hell has been bested by a cat, once again…”
