Happy Friday!
Another week closer to Halloween! Yay!
What y’all doing for Halloween? Better be doing something spooky! It’s the law!
Hey, speaking of spooky, a few years ago, way back in 2014, my novel, Intentional Haunting, was nominated for a Bram Stoker award. Didn’t win, but it’s always good to be nominated.
Have you read it? It’s spooky goodness!
You should go check it out. I think you’ll dig it!
Now, on with this week’s spooky drabble!
cheers!

Get Out There
By
Jake Bible
The crowd roared, cried, screamed, stomped.
Newell rubbed his throat. He was almost spent.
“Fourteenth encore. But you ain’t done yet,” the Manager said. “Get out there. Make them happy.”
“I ain’t got much more in me,” Newell said, avoiding the Manager’s stare.
“That’s a shame. Because your fans can do this…forever.”
“That weren’t the deal.”
“You wanted to be famous. Wanted to be rich. Wanted to be remembered…forever. That was the deal.”
The Manager gestured to the stage, to the roaring, crying, screaming, stomping audience.
“This, my boy, is what forever looks like. Now. Get out there.”
