Happy Friday, y’all!
Welcome to October! The spookiest of months!
In honor of the month of spookiness, all drabbles this month will be horror-themed. Might be some other genres mixed in there, but you are guaranteed to get 100 words of horror. My pledge to you!
Kinda a weird pledge, but, hey, when in spooky season…
Completely unrelated to Halloween, is the fact that earlier this year I had a brand spanking new novel published! Have y’all read it? It’s the fourth in the renamed series, Out of the Earth.
I give you Out of the Stars!
You like giant monster fights? A little kaiju on kaiju action? I know you do!
Go get Out of the Stars now!
With that out of the way, let’s get on with the 100 words of HORROR!
I don’t know why I yelled horror… Just felt right…
Cheers!

Little Worm
By
Jake Bible
“Come closer, little worm.”
The aged monk removed their hood, revealing scars upon scars; a chaotic tableau of damaged flesh.
“Do not fear, little worm.”
The novice sat upon their stool, eyes fixed on the ragged topography of the aged monk’s head.
“You were chosen, little worm. Chosen for greatness.”
The novice ignored the aged monk’s words. They were just sounds. Sounds were irrelevant. Only force, action, commitment mattered.
The blade was not there then there.
The aged monk felt the warmth of life leave their body through the new smile in their throat.
“Very good, little worm. Very good…”
