Happy Friday!

Or, for me, Happy Birthday!

I turn fifty today. The Big Five-O.

That means I’ve lived in the south most of my life. I’ve been a parent for half my life. I’ve been married for over half my life. Shit’s good, y’all.

And I still got at least another fifty to go! 100 is the goal, folks!

So, for my birthday, you can get me a gift. An easy gift. Just a little bit of your time.

Too many words.

Not enough…ink.

“Nathan!”

“Hold on!”

“What are you doing down there?”

“Uh…nothing!”

So many words. Gotta write them down.

Must remember.

“Nathan! Come up here now!”

“I’m busy!”

“Nathan… Do you remember what happened last time?”

Must remember…

Write it down. Write it all down so you know. 

So you know!

“NATHAN! I AM HUNGRY!”

Gotta finish. Getting dizzy.

Not enough blood for the words. Not enough…

“Dammit, Nathan! If you drained yourself writing that damn note to yourself again, I swear to the Devil and all that’s unholy!”
